Christ Church Port Harcourt is a unique Ecumenical Church established in 1938 to promote Unity among all who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, in line with His prayer “that they all may be one” (John 17:21).
The governance of the Church is vested in the Church Council which includes the Registered Trustees.
The Church is an Association of Persons established to provide a Church for the worship of God.
To build a Unity Church that is focused on Christ Jesus.
To foster a conducive environment for people, irrespective of their denominations.To worship God together in total obedience to Jesus Christ Thereby carrying out His Great CommissionAnd making a positive impact on the social life of the community.
The Church in pursuance of its OBJECTto provide a Church for the worship of God is Associated on spiritual and non-governance matters with the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Methodist Church Nigeria andPresbyterian Church of Nigeria.
OPEN TO: Any member of the Churches with which the Church is associated, and Any person who looks up to the Church for pastoral care.
